Mario was born in Morelia, Michoacán Mexico. At an early age, he experienced many different cultures and lifestyles as his family traveled and lived throughout Mexico. During his childhood, he developed a strong interest in fashion and design. Mario relocated to Acapulco to attend college where he received a degree in Tourism and Business. While working and studying in Acapulco Mario experienced an even broader diversity of people and fashion from around the world. It was then he decided that someday he would design his own clothing line.
Mario’s strong desire to travel and seek new opportunities brought him to the United States where he traveled, lived, and worked in New York, Atlanta, Miami, Chicago, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. All the while studying fashion and design on his own.
Mario traveled to Palm Springs for a weekend getaway and fell in love with the city and all it has to offer. Inspired by its culture, mid-century influence, eclectic and vibrant community, world class events, location and climate, his passion and drive to develop his own clothing line became even stronger. Mario’s new clothing brand G.FRAGA finally became a reality with the launch of his first collection in October 2016.
Inspired by the Palm Springs life style, Mario’s first collection is a contemporary and colorful look that is comfortably fitted—a design that is classic and ageless.
The brand name “G.FRAGA” was inspired by Mario’s last name—“Guillen” and his father’s last name—“Fraga”.
